Choreographer Lori Belilove (NYC) will develop Wild Beauty, a vision of dance that is primordial at its root and universal in its expression. Isadora Duncan’s movement will be explored on a wide variety of dancers who have trained in Doris Humphrey, Jose Limon, Merce Cunningham, and Martha Graham techniques, bringing Duncan’s freedom of movement into a modern expression by deconstructing repertory into phases of raw material turned upside down and inside out.

Lori Belilove has toured The Art of Isadora as a solo dance artist and with her company across America, performing in colleges, universities, and festivals. She has received numerous commissions to set new work and re-stage Duncan repertory.
In 2018, Paul Taylor commissioned Belilove to create a suite of solos for New York City Ballet Principal Sara Mearns for his American Modern Dance performances at the Koch Theater, Lincoln Center—the success of which led to a series of performances at venues including New York City Center (Fall for Dance Festival) and Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival. Belilove has choreographed evening length works including For the Living/Mozart’s Requiem, Perfumes in the Night/Sibelius, The EveryWoman Series: The Red Thread/24 Chopin Preludes with performances at The Hunter College Playhouse, Symphony Space, and Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater, respectively. In October 2015, Belilove was appointed Artistic Director of the new Duncan Dance Academy, established by a visionary Chinese entrepreneur in Shenzhen, China, with affiliate branches in China and in 15 other countries. The Duncan Dance Academy campuses offer a variety of dance styles with a strong focus on Duncan technique for ages 3—18.
