Jerome Robbins Theater
The Jerome Robbins Theater is an intimate venue with a floor-level stage and a fixed-seating orchestra and balcony.
The sprung stage, 42’ wide by 28’ deep, can accommodate dance, theater, film screenings, classes, workshops, and more. The ceiling height is 33', and the maximum trim height is 27'. The raked bench seating, for up to 238 audience members, accommodates a maximum of 187 in the orchestra and 51 in the balcony. The Jerome Robbins Theater is ADA compliant and includes two fully-equipped dressing rooms and four public restrooms.

The Jerome Robbins Theater is named in recognition of Mikhail Baryshnikov’s lasting friendship and collaboration with Jerome Robbins. Lead support for the theater acquisition and renovation was provided by The Jerome Robbins Foundation.
Howard Gilman Performance Space
The Howard Gilman Performance Space is made up of both the Rudolf Nureyev Studio and the Danny Kaye & Sylvia Fine Kaye Studio. It is a large, open studio that can accommodate many different activities.
The space is 72’ wide by 43’ deep, and the grid height is 15’4”. The Howard Gilman Performance Space is located on the 4th floor of BAC, including a lobby, two public restrooms equipped with locker rooms, and a small kitchen.

The Howard Gilman Performance Space is named in honor of Howard Gilman, a philanthropist and long-time friend and supporter of Mikhail Baryshnikov. The Howard Gilman Performance Space was dedicated in November 2006. Lead support for the theater was provided by The Howard Gilman Foundation.
Rudolf Nureyev Studio

The Rudolf Nureyev Studio has expansive windows with southern and western exposure. BAC studios are equipped with a rehearsal sound system and have vinyl dance floors on sprung, basket weave, hardwood floors. The studio has permanent floor mounted wooden ballet barres along two sides of the space. The studio windows can be fully masked by utilizing motorized blackout shades or darkened by lowering the scrim sunshades.
The studio is equipped with rolling mylar mirrors

The Rudolf Nureyev Studio is named for the legendary dancer Rudolf Nureyev (1938-1993), thanks to the generous support of the Rudolf Nureyev Dance Foundation.
Danny Kaye & Sylvia Fine Kaye Studio

17’ 7” ceiling height
The Danny Kaye & Sylvia Fine Kaye Studio has expansive windows with southern exposure. BAC studios are equipped with a rehearsal sound system, and have vinyl dance floors on sprung, basket weave, hardwood floors. The Danny Kaye & Sylvia Fine Kaye Studio has permanent floor mounted, wooden ballet barres along one side of the space. The studio windows can be fully masked by utilizing motorized blackout shades, or darkened by lowering the window’s scrim sunshades.
The Danny Kaye & Sylvia Fine Kaye Studio is equipped with mirrors along the 29’ eastern wall.

The John Cage & Merce Cunningham Studio is named in honor of John Cage and Merce Cunningham’s contributions to contemporary 20th century art and culture.
Christina Sterner Studio

The Christina Sterner Studio has expansive windows with southern exposure. BAC studios are equipped with a rehearsal sound system, and have vinyl dance floors on sprung, basket weave, hardwood floors. The studio has permanent floor mounted, wooden ballet barres along one side of the space. The studio windows can be fully masked by utilizing motorized blackout shades, or darkened by lowering the window’s scrim sunshades.
The studio is equipped with mirrors along the 30’ western wall.

The Christina Sterner Studio is named for Christina Sterner, Managing Director Emeritus of BAC and White Oak Dance Project.
