BAC After School empowers students to engage with the arts in New York City. Each year, students attend up to 20 events at arts organizations around the city – from plays to dance to art exhibits. Then, in seminars at BAC, students learn how to respond critically and express their opinions.
BAC After School is a FREE program.
Students have attended performances and shows at The Public Theater, New York Live Arts, BAM, HERE Arts Center, Brooklyn Museum, and St. Ann’s Warehouse, amongst many others. The program has 140 alumni from schools in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and the Bronx.
Leadership support for BAC After School provided by the Thompson Family Foundation, Bob and Carol Morris, and the Danny Kaye and Sylvia Fine Kaye Foundation.
Additional major support from the DuBose and Dorothy Heyward Memorial Fund, Catherine M. Brennan, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, as well as the generous support of many other individual donors.
