Choreographer/dancers Molly Lieber and Eleanor Smith will develop a new duet work entitled Rude World. In this, their third collaboration, Lieber and Smith will continue to explore tensions of a powerful inner world through improvisation-based movement, set in a sparse physical environment.
Molly Lieber + Eleanor Smith
Molly Lieber and Eleanor Smith have been collaborating in New York since 2006. Recent works include Tulip (Roulette, 2013, Judson Now at Danspace Project, 2012), and Beautiful Bone (The Chocolate Factory Theater, 2012). In 2013 they were nominated for a 2013 New York Dance and Performance (BESSIE) Award for Emerging Choreographer. They also received the 2013 NYFA Fellow Finalist Award.
Molly Lieber grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and graduated from Connecticut College. She dances for luciana achugar, Neil Greenberg, Juliette Mapp, Melinda Ring, and Joanna Kotze, and recently performed in works by Keely Garfield and Anna Sperber.
Eleanor Smith grew up in Raleigh, NC and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University. She dances for Ivy Baldwin Dance, Levi Gonzalez, and Katie Workum, and recently performed in works by Vanessa Anspaugh, Juliana F. May/MAYDANCE, and Molly Poerstel. Smith was a 2010 Fresh Tracks recipient at Dance Theater Workshop and a 2012 New York Live Arts Studio Series Artist.
