Choreographer Camille A. Brown will develop Black Girl, a work created in collaboration with dramaturg Kamilah Forbes. Blending theater, contemporary and ethnic dance, and film, Brown explores the social, emotional, and racial complexities of establishing an identity as a young black female in urban American culture.

Camille Brown is a New York City based choreographer who has received commissions from numerous dance companies including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Urban Bush Women, Philadanco, and Hubbard Street II. Her company, Camille A. Brown & Dancers, has performed in major venues around the country including The Joyce Theater, Brooklyn Academy of Music, The Kennedy Center, and New York City Center.
