BAC After School is an arts education program for New York City high school students who gather at BAC to engage in courses led by professional artists, journalists, and theater practitioners. The two-course program focuses on critical feedback and production, ranging from seminars on written response to live performance, to workshops in lighting, sound, video, and set design. Students also attend performances at venues including BAC, Danspace Project, New York Live Arts, HERE Arts Center, and The Public Theater. The program exposes students to a variety of aspects of contemporary performance, while teaching them valuable skills that can be applied to careers in the arts.
Leadership support for BAC After School provided by the Thompson Family Foundation with additional generous support from the Ford Foundation.
